Corporations are great!

Stop trying to make us bite the hand that feeds us. The strategy of the Democrats this years seems to be to demonize “big oil” and other corporations that do what they see as most evil: make a profit. In Oregon, they are attacking incumbent Senator Gordon Smith for giving tax breaks to corporations, especially the most evil ones: the ones that provide us with energy, medicines (including amazing research progress over the last few decades) and jobs.
The fact is, American corporations need their taxes lowered even more.. We have the highest corporate tax rates in the world except for Japan.
What the Democrats would love to do is increase taxes on the rich (who own the corporations) and the corporations themselves, and then give as much of it as they can away to those without money. It’s called socialism, Marxism, any of the other forms of it.
This may have worked back when the world was harder to move around and communicate in. However, even Russia has a flat 13% tax rate now. They are still in too many ways aggressive and repressive but they have used their capital to dominate oil and coal reserves all around their country and neighbors.
In this globalized world, where a company can as easily house their executives in luxury and sell their goods to the U.S. from almost anywhere, it makes no sense to make America a bad place to do business. More jobs will leave, more people will be unemployed, more people will need help. In time, we will have chewed on our own tail until we’ve eaten our own head. In the mean time, the Democrats will get rich and fat on our taxes and their programs.
Evidence of their duplicity in this? Al Gore in August 2007 used twice the average ANNUAL household electricity in one month. He claims he pays carbon credits to make up for it. Do you know who he pays those carbon credits to? HIS OWN ENVIRONMENTAL COMPANY.
Wow, this all ties with my last three posts, what a shock!
The TRUTH is that corporations provide jobs, health care (corps are the ones that can still afford it!), charitable projects (Ronald McDonald House, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, etc) and valuable technological advances. There isn’t anything the government does better than the private sector corporations except law enforcement, military and the mail. They are not the enemy, they are our livelihood and they drive our economy. Corporations are essential.
“Big oil” lost billions in the 90s with very low gas prices, liberal environmentalist blocking their growth in refineries and exploration, and excessive regulation. They are not the enemy. “Big oil” has a 7-11% profit margin right now. Microsoft is at 14%. Diamonds are marked up 1000%. What kind of corporation do the liberals like? Bear Stearns? Enron? Countrywide (they take their money and loans)?
It’s a mistake to try to demonize corporations. It’s biting the hand that feeds us.

As Ronald Reagan said, government isn't the solution to the problem. Government is the problem.
