As Barack Obama prepared to become president, from the man who Obama's staff has called "extremely helpful, showing a lot of grace," Obama's supporters showed their lack thereof. As Bush climbed onto the dais, they sang nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah, hey hey, good-bye. Maybe Michelle was right, America is a downright mean country, only the mean ones are liberals.
For eight years President Bush put up with being called a Nazi, illegitimate, stupid (how well can you give a speech? Can't? Does that make you stupid or a less than perfect speaker), ineffective and the cause of every evil that exists.
Does Barack even bother to mention that they should not have done that? Does he chide his supporters that now is the time to treat the President with respect?
No. He lectures us on how bad America is and how bad a shape it's in, then speaks about how we must unify. Hold on a second. Nancy Pelosi said on Meet the Depressed or one of the other Sunday morning news shows that she supported prosecuting Bush and Cheney for "crimes committed in the White House." How does that unify us?
Princess Nancy with her Gulfstream government funded private jet also has instituted a rule in the House of Non-Representation that Republicans are not allowed to amend or present counter legislation to any Democrat originated bills.
So the unity he speaks of is: Do what we want or shut up. Believe the way we do, don't question it or you will not be promoting unity. It's not about finding common ground. It's like those who preach tolerance but won't tolerate Christians having beliefs contrary to theirs.
Oh, but you won't hear it in the media. They are fawning over him, wondering about serious issues facing the country, like will Sasha and Melia have to go to school tomorrow and what is Michelle wearing!
When Bush spent $40 million in private money on his 2005 inaugural party, the media went nuts. Now, crickets over Obama's $45 million. I'm pretty sure Obama could order martial law in every red county, claiming intelligence that a revolt is starting, and the media would praise him as "wise" and "bold." The government now owns the media, and they didn't have to put themselves up for sale or cost one taxpayer penny.
Please get ready to tell your kids how our deficit grew by $2 Trillion a year under Obama, and that's why the US dollar is worth .005 euros.
And it was so nice of his closing benediction pastor to tell the white people that we embrace wrong. So post-racial of him to do that!
You don't have to read between the lines to see that all the talk of unity and working together is just a sham. I want America to succeed. Democrats worked for 8 years to make sure America failed enough to get Barack elected. Now we're supposed to shut up and be quiet and let the messiah "fix" things? We're supposed to be quiet while we're herded into a national health care system that will have to tell us what to eat, drink and do with our free time (happening in Great Britain)? Are we supposed to be little sheep while he socializes our banking and manufacturing sectors?
I don't think so.
