The Double Standard Proven
September 19th 2008 20:13
For years when people like McCain and other conservatives have criticized equal pay for equal work statistics, they've said things like the following:
In other words, the women that work for this person I'm about to name are paid less on average because they don't have the same responsibilites or experience. Who said this?
Kim Gandy of NOW in an article about how the women in Obama's staff make, on average, 78% of what the men in his campaign make. Obama has 30 women and 27 men.
How about McCain's staff? The women in his staff make 101%, on average, of what the men make. McCain has 26 women and 16 men on his staff.
Am I saying that everybody should make the same amount on their staff?
No. But it does point out that conservatives do what Kim Gandy said we should do: pay people for what they do and how long they've done it, not just because of their sex.
“It depends on what positions they’re in. Certain positions are paid more than other positions. I do know quite a number of women very high up in his staff and in his campaign who are extraordinarily strong supporters of women’s rights. We don’t advocate people be hired because of their gender. We advocated people be hired and paid without regard to their gender.”

The Political Brief
The equal pay thing is no shock, either. Those useless phonies keep getting away with their crappola and all the brain-dead voters praise them for their words but ignore their actions.
It's just one more case of liberals taking their hypocrisy to a fine art.
