Before Congress TurboTax Cheat Tim Geithner said about the AIG bonuses:
"I found out the full extent of these bonuses on Tuesday March 10."
Oh Really? Then you need to pay more attention!

December 16, 2008, Representative Cummings (D-MD) requests congressional hearings on upcoming AIG Bonuses
January 27, 2009 article about the bonuses
MARCH 3, 2009 Congress tells him about the bonuses. Now maybe at this point he didn't know the "full extent", but he should have gone back to the office and said "Hey, let's check this out," don't you think.
Now, as I've posted before, the bonuses themselves were a good thing to help AIG get our money paid back with a soft landing. However, this does show that Geithner is completely in over his head. This may be because Barack is doing NCAA tournament charts instead of organizational charts.
It paints Geithner as a liar or incompetent and not paying attention. He's understaffed, I know, but I think Congress made it clear this is important to them on March 3.
